Moving into the “danger zone” in the Division is Four Play (Dave Russell, Keith Hanson, Derek Williamson, Ray Clegg). They suffered a 21-11 defeat at the hands of old rivals Mavericks (Jason Greenwood, Peter Krenc, Steve Holmes, Eric McGinnis).Only Russell scored a win for Four Play as he beat Greenwood 21-16. McGinnis and Krenc had outstanding wins against Clegg and Hanson. In their latest game Four Play faced champions elect Clayhouse and were beaten 24-9.

After 12 games Four Play are now in the relegation “zone”, with 187 points from 12 games played.  Lindley are third from bottom with 192 points.

In Division 2 bottom teams Halifax “Extra” (Kath Webster, Chris Lindsay, John Crowson, Steve Webster) and Halifax Ladies (Mavis Walker, Ann Oates, Lynda Canning, Ann Ranton) registered their best results of the season. Halifax “Extra” beat Kingston ( Jack Shaw, Stuart Sykes, Roger Grey, Steve Clifford) 19-12 with wins by Kath and Steve Webster and Crowson. Sykes was Kingston’s lone winner with a 21-6 win against Lindsay.

Halifax Ladies (Lynda Canning, Mavis Walker, Ann Oates, Ann Ranton) had two winners against Blue Sox (Elspeth Hartley, Avril Humberstone, Neil Dickie, Peter Grant). Oates, registered her first win of the season with a 21-9 success against Humberstone and Canning beat Dickie 21-8. For Blue Sox Hartley and Grant were successful with wins against Walker and Ranton. The sides finished level at 14 points each.

In her next game for Halifax Ladies, Oates produced her best performance of the season against Fiery Jacks’ Mark Berry. She found herself 13-0 down but a superb recovery saw her take the game 21-20. Fiery Jacks (Berry, Bradford, Mick Walker, Ian Crossland) moved 10 points clear at the top of the table with this 22-10 win.

Peter Grant and Peter Gregory starred for Blue Sox (Grant , Gregory, Elspeth Hartley, Neil Dickie) as they registered wins over Julie Best and Linda Gledhill as Simply the Best (Best, Gledhill, Linda Carter, Julie Mallinson) were restricted to a 17-16 win.

Fiery Jacks lead the table with 263 points from 12 games played and Simply the Best are 10 points behind. Unbelieveabowl have moved into the 3rd spot 3 points ahead of Tykes on 212 points.
